There are a few things that can make a guest’s stay more enjoyable. One of those things is convenience. Ever notice how quickly stress levels rise when things are more difficult than expected? When things don’t go smoothly with your guest’s stay, they may leave feeling irritable and dissatisfied. Thankfully, there are four things you can do to improve the convenience factor.
1. Give clear directions.
You want your guests to be able to find your property with ease. That means you can’t just give them an address. Unless they’re return guests, they’ve never been to your property before, which means you need to ensure they know exactly where they’re going. Give them some added directions to help them find the location. Additional instructions, beyond just an address, will ensure your guests find the short-term rental without a hitch. And, don’t forget to let them know where to park when they arrive. You may even want to post a parking sign.
2. Use smart locks and provide a backup.
Make sure it’s easy for your guest to get into the property. One of the simplest ways is with smart locks. They won’t have to wait on someone else to arrive to provide them with a key. They can let themselves in once they arrive. They also don’t have to worry about losing a key or returning one. Just make sure you have a backup option, in case the batteries die.
3. Create a guidebook for the local area.
Your guests will most likely want to check out the area when they’re staying at your property. Make it easy for them. Provide a guidebook to all of the best attractions, including some of your local favorites. Yes, they could go to their phones to lookup local hotspots, but providing them with a guidebook will help them zero in on which places they’d like to check out. And, some guests prefer something more tangible as opposed to using tech to find locations.
4. Provide an outlined guide of the property.
Make sure your guests know everything they need to know about the property, which includes providing instructions about how to use the remotes, the hot tub, and anything else they may utilize while there. Also, provide them with the property rules and any additional important items like reminding them of the check-out time. Make sure the majority of common questions are answered in your guide.
