Think toiletry items
A just-in-case kit should contain items your guests should have packed. Here are some examples of things to include:
- Toothbrushes
- Dental floss
- Toothpaste
- Mouthwash
- Sanitary napkins or tampons
- Disposable razors
- Deodorant
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Hand soap
- Body wash
- Travel tissues
- Body spray
- Hand sanitizer
- Sunscreen
Some of these items may be things you provide in your bathroom anyway. If that’s the case, you’re already ahead of the game.
Consider first-aid needs
You could buy a premade first-aid kit to keep in your rental or create your own. Either way, you’ll need to replenish it periodically. Make sure to include the following items in your first-aid kit:
- Rubbing alcohol wipes
- Antibiotic Cream
- Pain relievers (those for adults and ones specified for children)
- Antacids
- Various sized adhesive bandages
- Elastic bandages
- Gauze
- Medical Tape
- Sterile gloves that can be disposed of
- Aloe
These are just a few things to consider as you create your just-in-case kit. As you put everything together, also consider some items outside of these kits.
Going beyond the just-in-case kit
Remember there are other things your guests may require such as more blankets, an ironing board, a fire extinguisher (hopefully not), fans, extra towels, and even additional lightbulbs. Consider what is important to have in your rental and what extras your guests may need, then start stocking up.
